Senior Conservator David Wise used UV lights to get a different perspective on Blue poles

Different colour pigments in the paint are highlighted under the UV light

While it was lit by UV, David mapped the entire painting with a digital camera, looking for different paint elements

The resulting image of stitched together details shines a different light on Blue poles

Protective googles had to be worn when dealing with UV lights
